The Concord Consortium
The Concord Consortium (CC) is a non-profit
organization dedicated to implementing the educational promise of technology to
improve education. Formed in 1995, the Concord Consortium has raised over $4
million in grants for research and development in various aspects of the use of
technology in learning. CC serves as the research and development arm of the
Learning Consortium, a group of innovative institutions and divisions that are
at the forefront of e learning and the use of technology in education.
Jointly, these organizations have access to extensive Federal research funding,
global expertise, and markets throughout the Americas and Europe.
This
partnership offers OLLI the following specific resources:
- online course methodology based on extensive research and experience
- online course facilitator training, developed and taught by professionals who have authored
the leading book on the subject
- over 150 online courses at the high school,
college, and graduate levels, most of them available under license for use in
business
- rapid online course development in partnership with content experts
- integration of scripted simulations into online courses, one of the most
powerful new learning techniques
